I can be an aggressive sleeper...
I dreamt that I karate kicked a giant crab.  In real time I actually performed an impressive karate kick and sent my sleeping cat flying.  Obviously this woke me up.

Got to work at 8am.  Left work at 10pm. I have a busy weekend ahead- must run three miles at gym, must clean apartment, record shopping (looking for Grateful Dead album) and dinner with Cultured Peter, Williamsburg with Jess, finish final sketch, must run seven miles, must buy watercolor paper, laundry, dinner with Brandon. I could use some excitement in my life.  Some spontaneity.  Something...

– J.D. Salinger, Catcher In the Rye A book that has impacted thousands of adolescents since it was first published in 1951, including myself at 13, all of us remarking “I feel like he knows just how I feel.” (via megnolia) totally agree Meg

NYC Marathon here I come!
I received my email notification today announcing my qualification to run in the 2010 NYC Marathon and, of course, I signed up!  Two hundred dollars later and I’ve officially saved myself a spot in the race. Since I started running again I have really been surprised by my progress.  I haven’t been keeping up with posting the Nike Ipod results because I don’t want to be annoying...

The lack of posting lately is due to very long hours at the job followed by training and scribbling ideas for an upcoming exhibit. I’ve been hanging a show for the last two days.  It has been a killer.  It’s one of those important shows where everyone flies in from around the world for the reception so the art needs to look magical. My feet hurt.  My eyes are blurry.  I can’t...

artlistpro: “The vast majority of the knowledge humans have assembled over the centuries, has been lost. The world’s geniuses either kept their revelations to themselves and then died, or else they put it down on paper which has long since rotted or burned or been used to line some parakeet’s cage.” (via henrycooke)

Three years ago I was struggling to survive my last year of college.  I was balancing classes, a job, an internship, running the student illustration club, a long distance relationship, and was depressed about graduating. Three years ago I was looking through catalogs and magazines of my favorite illustrators and wondered how they got in those publications, how they got started.  I knew that I...

What is the deal?!
I’ve had a recurring dream atleast once a week for months now.  It’s always the same thing: I’m forced to go back to high school because of a discrepancy with my transcript even though I have already graduated college and have had a job for several years.  Everything is the same- I’m back in the uniform, I carry an overweight backpack, I’m surrounding by girls with...
