Dear Christmas,
I’m breaking up with you.  It’s over.  I’ll be honest- it’s you, not me.  There are no sparks or magic left. I just don’t have the patience anymore. Who knows, maybe we’ll meet again in the future?  I just need some time away from you for awhile now. Yours truly, Kate

stuck
flights- cancelled. amtrak- cancelled. bus- cancelled until 4pm.  My bus leaves at 7:40pm, so I’ll know midday if I’m good to return, but everyones iphone weather apps are telling me it’s going to continue to snow so I can’t be hopeful.   I can’t complain though.  I could be stuck on the A train for 6 + hours with no food or water or bathrooms, 500 other cranky...

How To Live in New York City →
adriansrage: ilouvreyou: Move here when you’re 18 or 22, maybe even 24. Come from somewhere else-the north, south, west, Xanadu- and come to realize that everyone living in New York is a transplant. Even the ones who grew up on the Upper East Side end up moving into a place downtown, which, as you’ll soon discover, is like moving to a different city. Discover the cruel and bizarre world...

I stumbled upon an old classmate’s tumblr today and I am very pleased.  Her name is Sarah Goodreau and I’ve always been a fan from afar, so I insist that you follow her work as well.  I love her puppets.  I want one.   I’m sharing the above video which was made with Fred Huergo (check out more of his work here) because it tore at my heart a little.  It pays homage to her cat...

hitrecordjoe: purchase the tiny book of tiny stories wirrow: “The ‘tiny stories’ collaboration that wirrow started last spring is far and away the most active collaboration in hitRECord’s five years. There’ve been thousands of contributions, and now we’ve compiled, curated, refined and remixed thirty-one gems into a beautiful work of tangible publishing — The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories. This...

Just received yet another email from someone who is angry that they weren’t accepted into the Annual.  Please don’t be mean to me.  I was not a judge and have absolutely nothing to do with the results.  The judges were professional Art Directors and Illustrators who deserve respect for their work and careers.  They are not “pompous people living in a bubble down there in the Big...
